Camp Ruaha

Imagine waking up to the sound of trumpeting elephants and the splashing noises of elephants bathing in mud, while witnessing the sight of a large, striped herd of zebras.

In Camp Ruaha, you’ll spend the night in a tent with sleeping accommodations for 6 people, divided into three rooms. There’s plenty of space for, for example, two couples or grandparents with both children and grandchildren. On the tent’s spacious veranda, elevated 2.5 meters above the ground, with a stunning view of the animals on the plain, you’ll find your private outdoor kitchen, which adds a unique touch to preparing the meal kits.

If you want to ensure that you stay close to the four retired circus elephants, book your stay in June, July, or August when they will be outdoors day and night. It will be warm enough for the African elephants to stay outside in the Danish climate during these months.

When the park closes to day visitors, you’ll have the park all to yourselves, providing an even more thrilling experience with many evening activities. Feel free to ask your questions when the evening host shares information about the elephants at the lookout post, offering a view of Europe’s largest elephant enclosure. You can also visit the elephant stables, Museum of Evolution, and the Dinosaur Forest. It doesn’t get any more exciting than this.

In case of extreme weather, periods of low temperatures, illness among the herds, or other acute situations, some animals may not be out in the large areas.

All prices include admission to the safari park for two days for 6 people, accommodation in Knuthenborg Camp, evening activities, electricity, water, and final cleaning.

About the camp

The luxury safari tents can accommodate six guests and include both a kitchen and a bathroom, as well as a large veranda at eye level with the animals. Save time on cooking and purchase delicious organic food made from local ingredients to complement your stay. It is also possible to add child-friendly options and two tasty desserts to complete your dinner. All ordered meal packages will be delivered to your tent on the day of arrival and only require light preparation on the grill or in the tent’s kitchen before serving.
