You have access to your unit from 3 pm and must check out no later than 11 am the next day. You are welcome to be in the park from 10 am on the day of arrival. After you have checked out the next day, you can stay in the park until it closes.

The temperature in the units varies greatly depending on the outdoor temperature. Especially in the outer season, however, we recommend that you bring extra warm clothes so that you can keep warm. Especially in Camp Masai Mara, Camp Samburu and Camp Ruaha, where the tents are not insulated. See our recommended packing list under the item 'What should we bring ourselves?'.
No. Final cleaning is included in the price. We just ask that you wash up/put in place and empty the trash cans. Any rented linen/towels are placed in a pile on the floor.
The double beds are 180 x 200 cm. The bunk beds/single beds are 90 x 200 cm.
There is no Wi-Fi in Knuthenborg Camp.
Tent no. 10 in Knuthenborg Camp Masai Mara is designed with a special focus on increased accessibility. Here there is a ramp up to the tent, and there is more space indoors and of course in the toilet. As in the other tents, there is room for 6 overnight guests, divided into a double bed and two bunk beds.
In case of e.g. violent weather, in periods with low temperatures, in case of illness in the herds or other acute situations, it may happen that some animals are not out in the large area. That a certain animal is not out does not entitle to a discount on the stay.
No, it is not allowed to have a dog or other pets with you on the stay – not even if they stay in the car.
It is not possible to choose which number you would like to live in when you book accommodation in Knuthenborg Camp. However, you are welcome to contact guest service at mail@knuthenborg.dk or +45 54 78 80 89 – press 1, and make a request. We do not guarantee that the request will be met, as the unit may be rented out to another party, or if there are operational challenges on the individual unit. We do what we can to fulfill your wish, but nothing is guaranteed.
Yes. You are very welcome to visit each other in the evening hours when the park is closed. However, you must be back in your own camp at a certain time, where there must also be peace in the camp. The time and further information is received in Guest Service at check-in.
It is not possible to drive out of the park after the park's official closing time. If an emergency arises, you can call the phone number that was handed out at check in.
Yes, it is possible to cancel your stay according to our terms of trade: Cancellation and changes can be made up to 21 days before planned arrival for a fee of 150 kr. In case of cancellation between 21 and 7 days before arrival, a fee of 30% of the price is invoiced. In case of cancellation later than 7 days before arrival, or no-show, no compensation is offered. Cancellation of additional purchases such as food, linen and experiences can be made for a fee of 150 kr. until 10 days before arrival. When you book a stay at Knuthenborg Camp, this includes access to the safari park on both arrival and departure day (as well as the days in between if you book multiple nights), overnight stay at Knuthenborg Camp, evening experiences, electricity, water and final cleaning for up to 6 people per tent. In addition, you get the opportunity to experience the park on your own in the evening, and get an even wilder experience when the park is closed for day guests.
Unfortunately no. The tents are approved by the fire authorities for 6 people, and it is not allowed to be more, regardless of the age of the participants. Here "heads" are counted - not age.
There is a kitchen in each tent with a small refrigerator, hotplates, toaster and electric kettle, but without coffee machine, oven and microwave. In Camp Masai Mara and Camp Samburu there are common grill huts, where there are gas grills available. In Camp Ruaha there is an electric grill on the tent's terrace. There are pots, pan and tools to prepare a simple meal, as well as plates, wine and water glasses, cutlery, dishes and service for serving. In addition, there is salt and pepper for cooking. In the tent there is also a heat blower to take the top off the cold. We provide dish brush and detergent, 2 tea towels and dishcloth as well as kitchen roll. Each tent has its own toilet and shower cabin, where we provide toilet paper, hand soap and a towel. For all beds there are duvets and pillows. You just need to bring linen or rent it through us. There is a high chair and baby bed in all tents. NOTE: For the baby bed, you must bring your own baby duvet and linen. We have made a packing list with what we recommend you bring on your stay. There is a wood stove with firewood and radiators in the house. We provide a dish brush and detergent, 2 tea towels and a dishcloth as well as kitchen roll. Each house has a toilet and shower, and we provide toilet paper, hand soap and a towel. There are duvets and pillows for all beds. You just need to bring linen or rent it through us. Smålandshuset is located on the outskirts of the park, which means that you have to go on a bike ride if you want to experience the park in the evening hours. Here you have to go out of the exit gate, cycle 1 kilometer on public road, after which you can drive in through the gate at our Planteurhuse on the left hand. After that, it is possible to follow the route into among other things Dinosaurskoven, Elefantstalden and Limpopoland. When checking in at Guest Service on arrival day, you will receive a map and information on how you can move around in the evening hours.
