The animals in the park

In Knuthenborg, 500 wild animals roam freely in large areas, divided according to the continent they originate from. The animals live as they do in nature, and visits take place on their terms. Get an overview of the species and where they can be found – click and read more about each animal.

Pet the animals at Maglemer Meadow

Enjoy a visit outside the car, where you can walk alongside donkeys and goats at Maglemermarken. The animals are very much open to cuddles and pats - however, they should neither be fed nor lifted.

Enjoy the safari atmosphere on Savannen

There's a safari atmosphere on the Danish savannah, where both giraffes and rhinoceroses tower over the vast area. In this region, you must not under any circumstances get out or leave your car due to dangerous animals.

Hear the howling of the wolves, and get up close with the white pack

In the area around Ulveskoven, there is plenty to experience. Inside the wolves' lush enclosure, you can observe the lively Arctic pack from your car - it is strictly forbidden to leave the car here. Outside the enclosure, you can visit Ulvehytten on foot, where you have an unobstructed view of the enclosure from the cabin's large window. It is also in Ulvehytten where you can learn more about our wolves, bison, and moose. The bison and moose can be experienced in the area next to Ulveskoven.

Elephant trumpets and beautiful stripes

At Knuthenborg, you will find Europe's largest and most advanced elephant facility. The green facility has been realized in collaboration with Dyrenes Beskyttelse (Danish animal protection organization) and has had a primary focus on maximum animal welfare. Around the facility, you will find various lookout points, so you can enjoy the animals from many different angles - you also have plenty of opportunities to meet the elephants inside their stable, which is open all day and evening. On Elefantsletten, you will find our 4 retired circus elephants and the energetic herd of zebras.

Fun and mischief in Abeskoven

In Abeskoven, there's always time for monkey fun! Take a ride on Abebussen and feed the cheeky baboons with healthy, vitamin-rich snacks. In the area, you can also encounter our rescue monkeys, who have been given a new, lush facility to frolic in. Please be aware that the monkeys should not be touched, and that vitamin-rich snacks for the baboons are mainly distributed to children.

Hear the roars of tigers and lions from Tigerskoven

At Tigerskoven, you can not only experience our magnificent Siberian tigers. Over the years, we have expanded our pride with 8 lions from both domestic and international origins. 4 out of 5 male lions can be seen at the forest's large panoramic window, where you can get up close with the big cats. From the walkway of the facility, which was erected in 2021, you can see our 3 beautiful lionesses, the two tiger brothers, and the last male lion, who sits atop the facility's shelter with his large, impressive mane.

In Tigerskoven, you park the car and experience the animals on foot.

See the camels up close

Step out onto Skovridersletten and see our large herd of camels up close. In addition to curious camels, you will also find large water buffaloes that love to bathe in mud puddles. In this area, you are allowed to get out of the car, but you must keep a good distance from the animals. The animals must not be touched.
