Two llamas

Llama

A stubborn spitter

  1. A llama can carry a tenth of its own weight. If it is loaded with more than it can bear, it will most likely lie down and refuse to move.

  2. Llamas are known to spit when they feel threatened, but it's actually not saliva, but stomach contents. You can also smell it if you're unlucky enough to get hit.

  3. Llamas live in a group with one male and his females. He is territorial and will chase away other males. Therefore, we can only have one sexually mature male in Knuthenborg.

Meet the llamas at Bandholmmarken.

Do not feed the llamas.
The animals may spit or kick if they are stressed.
