Zebras on the Elephant Plain

Zebra

"No one has stripes quite like mine"

  1. Chapman's zebras, like the ones we have in Knuthenborg, are the only zebra species that have brown 'shadow stripes' between the black and white stripes.

  2. All zebras have individual stripes, just like a fingerprint. The zookeepers can tell the individuals apart because of these unique patterns.

  3. If one zebra is attacked by a predator, the other zebras will come to its rescue by forming a circle and attacking the threat.

  4. The zebra is one of the few mammals that can see colors – except for orange.

See the zebras on Elefantsletten.

The zebras must not be fed.
