Smålandshuset
Imagine waking up to a view of the Småland Sea and llamas grazing on the horizon. You have this opportunity in our newest yet oldest addition to Knuthenborg Camp: Our unique miniature Renaissance castle Smålandshuset, located on the edge of the Bandholmmarken.
Here you will live with a view of the large herds of llamas and Shetland ponies. When you leave the house, you can enjoy the large, cozy garden with picnic tables and a fire pit, or take a leisurely bike ride through the park on the bicycles that come with the house. You must bring your own bicycle helmets.
- NOTE: You have the option to leave the park and experience the Bandholm harbor, Dodekalitten, and other attractions in the evening. It is not possible to cycle, walk, or drive around the park after closing time (5 PM in the off-season, 6 PM in the peak season). However, you must be back in the house by 9 PM when the park is locked, if you are moving outside of Knuthenborg. The exact time will be communicated at check-in at the guest service. After that, the next opportunity to exit is at 10 AM the following day.
About the house
The accommodation is 57 m2 in size, accommodates four guests, and includes a living room with dining area and fireplace, a kitchen, and a bathroom, as well as two rooms and a large garden surrounded by the ancient trees of Knuthenborg. The house was built in 1868 and is designed like a miniature Renaissance castle.
The house is located on the edge of the park and does not have the same evening access to the park's nighttime events as the tents and cabins in the Knuthenborg Camp.
